History to some people means no more than a reference point in time These reference points are usually date, or date of events The bombing of Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941 becomes a very important reference point as a prelude to the Great War. The Watergate Scandal, the Moon Walk, JFK assassination, VietNam War, 9-11 World Trade Centers, and other events of recorded history become reference points Some people call history "water under the bridge" or "useless information." However, an attempt has been made to compile some of the history of the Magnolia Community by collecting pictures, records, maps & other valuable information.
At MAGNOLIA HISTORICAL SOCIETY, we are dedicated to preserving and sharing the rich history of our community. Through our exhibits, events, and educational programs, we strive to inspire a love of history in visitors of all ages.
Most of the historic items preserved at the Depot complex are generous donations from families who have lived in Magnolia. If you have historic photographs or other memorabilia from Magnolia's history and wish to share and preserve - please contact us.
As a member of MAGNOLIA HISTORICAL SOCIETY, you will have access to exclusive events as well as the satisfaction of knowing that you are supporting an important community organization. Join us in preserving our history for future generations.
